Meet Conrad (Conny to friends). This Mercedes-Benz T1 310 German Firefighter Camper Van is premium vanlife with a twist. Conny is a real chameleon: a perfect restoration on the outside and a contemporary luxury van on the inside. He is tough too and will take you anywhere on the island. Once there, enjoy a sundowner perched on the roof top terrace, cook a meal and then tuck into a nice big bed. A shower and a toilet complete your home on wheels for excellent comfort.
The burly Mercedes T1 "Bremer van” has become a classic for some of the most imaginative camper van conversions out there, and this is vanlife for connoisseurs. Conny started life as a fire fighter i Dortmund and like many of his compatriots found his way to sunny Spain. We picked him up with his original paint faded by the sun, and set about giving him a re-spray and new decals. We spent quite some time digging into history to get everything true to the original, from the color codes to the correct striping and the proud Dortmund coat of arms. We then designed and built a custom camper interior where before there were only racks for fire hoses and axes.
Oh, and the name? It's in honor of Conrad Dietrich Magirus, the German fire brigade pioneer.

Conditions
- Minimum age 26 years old with minimum 2 years of driving licence.
- Delivery will take place in Los Cristianos. Unfortunately we don't have the possibility to offer a transfer or delivery elsewhere.
- An old van is not easy to drive and needs good care. We will do a test drive and you need to be able to drive it well before taking off.
- We will sign a regular rent-a-car contract when you check in. A basic road insurance is included.
- Conny will meet you with a full tank of GASOLINE (95/98) and you return him the same way.
- He will also have a full fresh water tank. Please fill it up and empty the grey water before returning (see our map for good places).
- Conny is strong and will take you everywhere on the island, including Teide. Just take it easy on long climbs and descents. Island hopping is permitted upon request with an additional deposit.
- In case of mechanical breakdown we will reimburse the remaining days.
- It's a good idea to pack soft bags, since there is little space for hard suitcases onboard.

Esperienza INCREDIBILE. Prima vacanza con la mia compagna e prima volta su di un Van. E decidiamo di prendere uno dei Van più belli che Tenerife può offrirti. Ottimo per qualità prezzo. Con lui non passarete di certo inosservati. Un po' complicato parcheggiare in retro ma solo perché sono abituato ad una Smart ma quando vi sveglierete con la finestra aperta con vista sull'oceano tutti gli sforzi saranno ripagati. I proprietari sono super ospitali e vi consiglieranno per farvi passare un esperienza indimenticabile.

We loved living in Conny! It was very comfortable, had everything one could need and made everybody we met smile, wave and take pictures. We loved Conny‘s clever and aesthetic interior design. Everything we needed was there, we really didn’t miss a thing.
The driving took a little getting used to. Since the steering is quite hard and the gear shifting is a little different than in other cars, it is better to be an experienced driver. But we ended up being super surprised how powerful Conny is, even on steep hills. He never once let us down. We will miss him.
The renting process was uncomplicated and easy, too! Monia & Dahn responded very quickly and immediately resolved any issues and problems. The check-out was equally pleasant. They also kindly offered a transfer to the Los Cristianos bus station.

We've been to Tenerife a few times, so now we wanted to come just to have a short adventure with a vintage camper. We first wanted to rent Wendy, but it was already booked so Monia was nice to rent Tommy to us. The car was just as described, tricky to drive but so eye-catching. We drove around south, avoided crowded hours (since 2nd gear was a bit hard to find). For hot weather it's not a problem to take the shower outside, but we didn't use soap. Personally I wished for a chemical toilet, since not so many restaurants are open in the morning. Otherwise, it's a nice experience to have such a small home with you everywhere you want to go. Tommy and Wendy have so much value being so old and in working condition. It's a MUST experience in a lifetime and Tenerife is such a perfect place that combines beaches and nature.
